Good Quote Fridays: Writing Tip #3

“Sometimes you have to spend three hours writing an entire scene in explicit detail before realizing that, well, that the scene really isn’t all that important and can be eliminated by one line of dialogue in the first two pages of your story. Oh well. #youhavegottobekiddingme. #writersproblems #hashtagsonwordpress #doingitwrong

But seriously, a legit quote:

“If you expect to succeed as a writer, rudeness should be the second-to-least of your concerns. The least of all should be polite society and what it expects. If you intend to write as truthfully as you can, your days as a member of polite society are numbered, anyway.” –Stephen King, On Writing
